This specialty Bolivian coffee is grown by a small group of native coffee farmers known as colonials, on land located near the edge of the Andes mountains, and bordering the rain forest of the Amazon.
This heavy-bodied coffee develops sweetened, fruit flavors when grown in the high altitudes of Bolivia. Cultivated near orange, lemon, and other fruit trees, Colonial Carana will sometimes have undertones of these fruits. With low acidity, it is also known to produce nutty, chocolate, and malt flavors after being brewed.
Cupping notes: rich aroma, low acidity, smooth body, sweet milk-chocolate flavor
Aroma: full bodied, mild acidity, and good balance
We ship whole beans to prolong freshness.

Don’t be alarmed if the coffee you selected does not match our flavor profile. Different people taste things differently and there are a number of variables in roasting, brewing and storage that can impact flavor. First Light Coffee Roasters stand by our flavor profiles, though that does not mean you will taste the same things as we do. That is one of the many beauties of coffee.
